The Vale Housing Association is the largest provider of Social Housing within the Vale of White Horse area of Oxfordshire. We own and manage 5000 homes, which represents one in ten of all the homes in the district. Where are you based? Our main office is located at Abingdon, Oxon. With our Property Services Department based at East Hanney, Oxon., approximately seven miles South West of Abingdon. Who manages the Vale Carelink Service? The Vale Carelink Service is managed by the Specialist Services department,
who are part of the Associations' Housing Services Directorate.
The department is also responsible for managing a team of 16 Scheme Managers who provide a 24 hour 'on call' service to our elderly tenants' residing in the Associations Sheltered Housing Schemes. When did the Vale Carelink Service begin? The Vale Carelink Service was launched in September 1999 in response to the many enquires the Association received concerning the provision of dispersed help alarms to members of the general public. The Association has been responsible for providing help alarms and Scheme Managers to our own tenants for many years and our expertise in this field has enabled us to offer our professional services to anyone who requires a help alarm system. The Vale Carelink Service is recommended and supported by The Vale of White Horse District Council and Thames Valley Police. The Specialist Services department also has close links with other
professional bodies such as Social Services, Area health Authority Social
Services departments, Occupational Therapists, District Nurses, Home carers
Associations and many others. The Vale Carelink Service can be provided to anyone within the Vale of White Horse district and to persons outside of this area but within the Oxfordshire boundary, subject to agreement. If you are in any doubt as to whether an alarm can be provided in a particular area, please contact us.
